Fostex L-16 – 16 Track Prototype
Offered is a Fostex L-16 16-channel 26cm. Tape Recorder. Extremely rare, as this is a prototype, which was never officially released to the market. See also the serial number.
The machine has been briefly tested for function and is partially working.
Device turns on normally and mechanically fast forward and rewind both function perfectly.
Playback was also tried with an old, used tape. Mechanically it worked, but unfortunately no sound was audible. This may have been due to the tape or recording, but that is not known.
This device is already decades old and has not been used for a long time. Major general maintenance is therefore absolutely necessary.
Sale follows therefore explicitly as is as a restoration item or for parts.
Many pictures document well the optical condition.
Device comes with the original FOSTEX NAB adapters.
Both reels are NOT included in the sale, but serve only as decoration for the photo!
This unit is very fragile and over 30kg. Shipping can be done, but the shipping cost should be requested separately in advance.
