Akai M-8 Tube Tape Recorder
Offered is a 4 track Akai M-8 tube Tape Recorder.
A brief technical test had the following result:
The unit turns on normally and mechanically the tape recorder is 90% fine.
Fast forward and rewind function perfectly
Playback also functions, but the buttons creak heavily when operated. Furthermore, at first only the left channel functioned.
After activating/deactivating the recording functionality, moving the mono/stereo button back and forth and the track switch on the heads, the right channel also worked.
When in neutral, the mechanics are quite noisy on the inside.
VU meter light is defective.
Tape counter OK. Recording is untested.
Left channel volume knob is loose.

This unit has been inactive for years. It will need some maintenance.
Due to all described problems, the sale of this item follows explicitly as is as a restoration item!
