Akai GX-270D Auto-Reverse Tape Recorder
Offered is a Akai GX-270D Auto-Reverse Tape Recorder.
The unit was briefly tested for function, and works for the most part.
All mechanical functions, such as playback, fast forward and rewind function. Playback still sounds pretty good both ways. Also the VU-lights are on.
Two (small) points of attention though:
-The tape counter remains stuck.
– Fast rewind a bit slow at the end of the tape, but that could also be due to the tape used.
Despite the reasonable test result, this is a snapshot. Furthermore, this device is already more than 50 years old.
Therefore, we prefer to sell as is" as a restoration object or for parts.
Many pictures document well the optical condition.
Unfortunately, the head cover is ugly damaged.
